“He will bring forth justice for truth.”
Isaiah 42:3
As believers, we live happily testifying the blessings of God and delighting in his goodness. But during tough times, we fail to realise that our beloved God is a God of Justice. When we encounter failures in life, we get depressed, a sense of bitterness conceives in our hearts and induces us slowly to go astray. When we think about the loving nature of our beloved Saviour, we should also be reminded that He is a God of Justice.
Though we try to lead a humble and righteous life, we tend to get caught in the wicked snares of the world. When God corrects us, we do not contemplate the equity of God and His Justice in our guilt and agony. We think of being rendered with a worse punishment from God. Of course, God reproaches His loved ones, but it is a sinew of Him that He is always with equity in His Justice.
In our journey of faith, we often become weary of seeing a world filled with injustice. But rejoicing in the Lord for His Justice will help us gain the divine strength to walk steadily in faith. We need not fear whether the same perils happening for others, would also happen in our lives. Psalms 37:3 says “Trust in the Lord and do good..”
Some fear that an open righteous act would invite wicked ones into their ways. But the Bible says that we can boldly do good and trust in God as He renders the right judgement. Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”
As God’s elect, we need to meditate more upon God’s justice. The Psalmist says, “The entirety of Your (God’s) word is truth, and every one of His righteous judgments endure forever” (Psalm 119:160). As we rejoice in His righteous judgement, we should also tremble at it, search our ways and make it upright before the Lord our God (Refer Psalms 119:120).
The justice from judges or lawmakers of the world cannot be likened to that of our heavenly Father’s. Lord Jesus never expected justice or verdict from the people around Him or the rulers of His time. Instead, He looked upon God the Father and accomplished His divine mandate. We also should bravely do good, stand for the right and expect justice not from the world but from the Lord.
