A New Year has just started. All our usual celebrations, well wishing and sharing of happiness happens. Meeting friends, relatives and having fun are integral part of the New Year celebrations. Some even go for an outing to have a change of ambience. Though everything seems to be alright, a sense of insecurity, anxiety and fear seems shadows human mind. We have toiled and ended the last year, but still those unpleasant remnants of the past makes us feel weaker. Handshaking outwardly having such trepidation in the inner self is not uncommon nowadays.
Many fear pestering whether they are competent enough for their future. Some think that last year was full of chaos and failures making them to think that the New Year may bring more complications in matters that were already problematic. Some others collapse and stumble seeing that there is no way henceforth. People know that worries eventually take them nowhere yet anguishing in their hearts, they succumb.
The Bible says that there is an ultimate solution for all logical and mysterious setbacks in human life. Most of us would have seen the Oscar winning 1956 movie “The Ten Commandments”. It beautifully depicts the liberty of Israelites from the Pharaoh. The Bible says that the people who were set free from Pharaoh’s oppression were still chased by his army to destroy them wholly. The Israelites under the captainship of Moses did not have any kind of weapons or any means of transportation to counter attack or escape. Historic researchers say that Egypt was the capital power among all nations in those days (13th Century BC). The Egyptian soldiers used all their might to uproot the Israelites along with Moses. When they were chased all their way towards the red sea, the people cried in despair.
Egyptian army at their back and the vast red sea with ceaseless waves in their front appeared to be the dead end in their struggle. The people of Israel were filled with the fear of being destroyed and were hopeless. But something unimaginable supernatural event happened when Moses looked unto the Almighty God in this situation. The crying and yelling of the people was on one side and the chasing Egyptian army on the other side. The God who heard their cries, parted the red sea and made way for them to escape. God says, “I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings” (Exodus 3:7).
Such a Great hope is there for us even now at this time. The same God who parted the red sea into two to make way for his people, is alive even today. No matter what situation you are in this New Year, God will make a way for you. The time for God’s miracle is when everything seems to be falling apart in your life. When the world rejects you with impossibilities, God locates you to demonstrate his might. This same God took human form to demonstrate His love for us. Do not worry as He is silently listening to your inner longings. Let your faith be enhanced, for He has brought you so far, will surely lift you so high. Wish you a miraculous New Year in Jesus Name!
